Introducing Our New Seriously Safe, Low Emission Skip Lorries

We want to introduce you to the latest additions to the Dunmow Waste Management team, our new fleet of Volvo skip loaders. These low emission vehicles are specifically designed for city use, meaning we operate the safest skip hire lorries on the roads of Chelmsford and the wider Essex area.

We take the safety of our customers, pedestrians and other road users seriously, which is why we don’t compromise when it comes to the features we fit as standard to our vehicles. To protect our drivers and other road users, we have added smart collision warning systems, electronic stability controls and blind-spot detection as standard. Drivers also use remotes to control the loading and unloading of skips or aggregates from a distance, making it safer for our domestic and commercial customers.

As our vehicles travel across Chelmsford and the wider Essex area, operating a fuel-efficient fleet and improving our emissions is a top priority. That’s why we teamed up with Masternaut and enrolled in their CO₂ certification scheme, to give us ongoing feedback to help us understand and reduce our carbon footprint. So far we’ve reduced our CO₂ emissions by 46% and plan to reduce this even further as part of the scheme.

To better understand and manage the most vulnerable road users, Dunmow Waste Management’s drivers took part in Fleet Source’s Safe Urban Driving course. Our fleet drivers took to the street on bikes to better understand a cyclists’ view of the road.
