We thought it would be fun to show you the faces of the staff behind the scenes of Dunmow Group and what role they play for ensuring Dunmow Group are the number one leader for waste management.
What is your job role at Dunmow Group?
I'm Connor, I am the Group Transport Compliance Manager for Dunmow Group and I've been with the company for just over six months, I am the 'O' license holder for the company and as such have several different areas of responsibility, these range from managing drivers in line with working time regulations and EU drivers regulations ensuring our HGV fleet is always maintained and compliant and everything in between! As well as the HGV's I am responsible for the vehicles that don't fall under an 'O' license, such as our light commercial vehicles and company cars. We currently have almost 100 vehicles in total within the Dunmow Group.
What is the best part of working for Dunmow Group?
I really enjoy being part of a team that can really drive change in the business. I love how active the directors are in the everyday operation of Dunmow Group and I think that in turn rubs off on us as a management team.
What is the favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of the job is the equipment, I'm like a kid in a toy shop when it comes the kit we have, whether it be our flagship Scania 770s or one of our shredders/crushers, I love anything with an engine!
Can you explain Dunmow in three words?
Innovative, Quality and Ambition.
What is something that people don't know about you?
I have an entire room at home dedicated to my hobby of keeping reptiles. I have over 15 different species including geckos, frogs and spiders.
What's your food heaven and hell?
My food heaven would be anything to do with pizza or peanut butter... but not together! My idea of food hell is strong cheese like camembert or stilton! Ugh!
What's the most unusual thing in your desk draw?
Right now, it must be that can of carrot and coriander soup that i've been finding excuses not to have for the past three months...
When you were younger, what did you want to be?
A lorry driver, just like my dad!
